MalpracticeAttorneys.com is run by the Neu family in the spirit of Howard Neu, a Florida lawyer and public servant who spent his life helping people find a way forward. His wife, Barbara, and his son, Ray Dillman-Neu, lead it today.
Where it began
Howard Neu: an advocate for everyday people
Howard Neu came to South Florida in 1954 and spent the rest of his life serving it. He worked as a CPA, earned his law degree from the University of Miami in 1968, and practiced as a Florida attorney. He served North Miami as a municipal judge, a city councilman and, for several terms, its mayor. He also ran Hubert Humphrey’s Florida presidential campaign, and he had a second life on stage as a singer, actor and radio and TV personality.
As a lawyer, a judge, and a public servant, he spent his life helping people find a way forward when they needed it most. MalpracticeAttorneys.com is built in that spirit.
Standing with the individual
He took on large companies on behalf of one person
Later in his career, Howard defended individual domain name owners against much larger companies. In 2004 he co-founded the T.R.A.F.F.I.C. conference with Rick Schwartz. He was also a founding member of the Internet Commerce Association, which gave him its Lifetime Achievement Award. He was known for doing business on a handshake.
Howard passed away in February 2024. The people who worked with him remember a kind, practical man who loved his family and his community.

The builder
Barbara Dillman-Neu
Barbara Dillman-Neu, Howard’s wife, is an entrepreneur in her own right. She became the youngest owner in the Carvel Ice Cream chain of more than 700 shops and served on Carvel’s Board of Governors. For a decade she hosted and organized T.R.A.F.F.I.C. alongside Howard. After Howard’s passing, she chose to build on what he left rather than let it go, and MalpracticeAttorneys.com is part of that work.
Carrying it forward
Ray Dillman-Neu
Ray Dillman-Neu has spent his career in internet business, starting in the domain industry that Howard helped build. He runs things the way Howard did business: owners who pick up the phone, and deals made in conversation.
Today Ray leads MalpracticeAttorneys.com with Barbara at his side. His aim is the one Howard lived by: when someone doesn’t know where to turn, give them a clear, honest next step.

Howard Neu was a lawyer. We, his family, are not, and MalpracticeAttorneys.com isn’t a law firm. We help people take a first step toward an attorney, and the attorneys do the legal work.
